Venmo: Send & Receive Money Review: Simple And Fun Money App - Just As They Promised Review

Review Standarts
Our main goal is to provide full and useful app reviews. Our authors strictly follow the rules: minimum 15 hours of the real app usage experience or gameplay, test on main Android and iOS versions, test on phones and tablets.

Venmo: Send & Receive Money is one of many but one of the first peer-to-peer transaction app plus social network component.

You can download Venmo: Send & Receive Money for iOS and Android.

Functionality 5/5

Send, receive, deposit money with PayPal's offspring with a strange name. It is more fun with this app because of the social network that's inside this app. Now you can share your transactions (without showing the sum) with your friends and family. Too bad Venmo works only in the U.S.

Design 5/5

The app’s slogan, “Fun and easy way to send, pay…”  transfers to its design, it’s fun, colorful and cool too. It has unique images and characters, that are so refreshing. Usually, financial app creators think that it’s not necessary to have any color to their app because it’s supposed to be serious, so nice that Venmo broke this seal.

Usability 5/5

The main advantage of Venmo is Instant Transfer. You can get your funds deposit on your bank cards or accounts within 30 minutes, unlike typical wire transaction which takes up to 3 days. When the money is transferred to you, they get to your Venmo account, not to your bank account or a card. But you don’t need this Venmo: Send & Receive Money review to learn that many money apps like Venmo can release its own card for you. Unlike Cash App, for example, Venmo gives you MasterCard instead of Visa. This factor might be a key factor for you depending on if you like either of those card systems.

It's cool to purchase with Venmo too. Now you can do it on stores where you see PayPal button. BTW do you know why you need Venmo if you have PayPal? Because Venmo is better suited for a common fellow while PP is a little more complicated and better suits for businesses. Venmo is like your online wallet but a good one, unlike others.

Cross-platform use 5/5

Your Venmo needs iOS 11.0 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. We wouldn't recommend to log in to Venmo from all of those devices because of the theft chance of higher this way. Set your PIN code in the app.

In-app purchases

There are no direct in-app purchases, but the app makes revenue off commissions. Instant transfer of your funds to your account takes 1% of the transaction. There's a standard fee of 3% for sending money from any source (Venmo balance, bank account, debit or credit card). The purchases and using Venmo card are free and

The Bottom Line

You might not want to download Venmo: Send & Receive Money because of some bad press and negative reviews. But all good things attract negativity. Most of the reviews are positive, and there is a lot more negativity on other similar apps so you should definitely check this app out. Especially if you have friends.
